I brew for fun and personal enjoyment, then journal and share my adventures here. I often pull from similar sites, blogs, and social media posts when planning my next batch or researching new ideas to try, so hopefully I can return the favor!
The bulk of this site is the Mead Log where I journal of all my brews with detailed notes on what I did - whether it was what I intended or not.
The Recipes page focuses on presenting organized procedural guides you can follow to brew along at home, and is limited to meads that were successful enough for me to recommend with minor/if-any changes. Primarily, this means:
I enjoyed the brew enough that I think it's worthy of being recommended
My process on that brew was clean enough that I think it's reproduceable
It doesn't mean the brew or my process was perfect - I think there's always room for improvement. But I've tried a lot of weird off-the-cuff recipes and experiments, and I wanted a way to call attention to some of the more successful and vetted brews!
And finally, the Brewtastrophes page highlights some of the brews that I'd... really rather just not drink. Something went so wrong on these that I'm taking the time to explicitly say "don't try this at home".
Oh, one more thing! I also do a form of wire weaving called trichinopoly (AKA Viking Knit) if you want to check that out.
