24 gauge | 5 ribs | 8mm tool | 5.5mm draw
This wire and rib combination is a staple single knit recipe for me now due to the speed at which I can produce it. The aesthetic can be modified a bit by changing the tool or draw size.
This weave is too loose with too many air gaps for thin wire, but I find it's relatively sturdy if 24 gauge wire is used.

Similar to the left example, but drawn down slightly smaller. The visual difference is minimal, but every little extra bit shaved off the chain's diameter tightens up the weave and makes it slightly sturdier.
26 gauge | 6 ribs | 8mm tool | 5mm draw
Reasonably quick and sturdy - but not really dissimilar enough from the single knit 5 rib combinations I use to justify the extra time and wire spent on the 6th rib, in my opinion. Especially considering I make most of these with the SCA in mind and have read that 3, 5, and 7 are more common historically. However, with even just slightly thinner wire like this 26 gauge, the extra rib does help add some structural integrity.
