I finally decided to just go all-out and put ALL of the weird floral-focused metheglin things I was struggling with together. And they weren't individually horrible-tasting, to be clear, but all of them existed in a place where I simply knew that I would never reach for one of these as long as I still had basically anything else available in the house. I blended them all together and got almost 5 full gallons of mead.
It tasted like alcoholic tea. So many different herbs had been packed into this across the different components that the only way I can think to describe it as is alcoholic tea.
Unfortunately, that's still not really in my wheelhouse. I ended up giving it to a friend who had some kind of cooking plans or something for it.
In the end, it was put to good use, so it was successful in some capacity, but I'm not sure that I can call it a successful mead.
